Fayose makes case for Wike, tells Tinubu to appoint him into his cabinet

Mr Fayose Ayodele, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, has urged president Bola Tinubu to appoint Barrister Nysom Wike, the controversial and flippant former governor of Rivers State into his cabinet.

The former governor of Ekiti State gave the advise when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

He said, “Wike is an asset to Nigeria, Asiwaju [Tinubu] needs a man like Wike.”

Recall that there have been romours of Wike, a PDP chieftain, making the Tinubu’s ministerial. Though, Fayose who is a strong ally of Wike said there nothing is wrong with it, adding that Wike is a courageous man who is not afraid to speak the truth.

During the build up to 2023 general elections, the Niger Delta-born politician led a group of five governors in PDP who worked against the candidature of a former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Fayose, who was one of the first PDP members to call for a southern president, disclosed that he also worked against Atiku in the 2023 presidential election.

“I never worked for PDP during the last election. I cannot work for two people at the same time,” he said.
