A 47-year-old Chinese national in Kano State, identified as Geng Quangrong, has revealed why he stabbed his girlfriend, Ummu Kulthum, to death in Kabuga Quarters, Dorayi Babba area of the State.
The suspect, who was arrested after he attacked and killed his 23-year-old girlfriend in her home on September 16, said he did it because he was betrayed.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspect invaded the deceased home after scaling the fence to gain access and repeatedly stabbed her until she passed away.
Geng alleged that Ummu had promised to marry him, but later reneged on the promise after he had spent so much money on her.
The suspect claimed he was angered by Ummmu’s deception, and he decided to attack and kill her at her residence.
Deng has since been transferred to the State Police headquarters at Bompai for further investigation and prosecution while Ummu was buried on Saturday, September 17.
