If I become president, any govt official that spends dollar will go to jail — Peter Obi

Frontline presidential aspirant of the Labour Party, Peter Obi says, if he should become the president, any government official that spends dollar in the country will go to jail.

Peter Obi made this known while speaking during Arisetv morning show.

According to the former governor, one of the greatest measure of any country’s economic stability is their currency and the people should be proud of it.

He said, “Manufacturers are looking for money, importers, business people, genuine businessmen are looking for money, (dollar) for spares, for input, for critical goods, they can’t find it. And the way politicians are sharing dollar”

“Let me tell you, one of the greatest measure of any country’s economic stability is their currency. It’s an abomination that somebody serving in government is spending another countries currency in his country. And I said it, if I’m president today, no government official will spend dollar, you go to jail. We have a currency. It’s our country. We should be proud of it”
