Founder of DPA, Emeka Ugwuonye loses mother

The founder of Due Process Advocates International—DPA, attorney Emeka Ugwuonye, has lost his mother, Mrs Cecilia Nwakego Ugwuonye to the cold hand of death.

Emeka confirmed the death in a statement obtained by NewsBand Newspaper.

The Harvard trained attorney disclosed that further announcement will be made about the burial arrangement.

The statement reads, “My mother, the Ebemma, passed away a few hours ago. It is a very sad event for me and for my brothers and her many grandchildren. For me, it is the end of an era. I have lost the woman who taught me everything I know. I was with her on Friday and Saturday of last week, and I spoke with her two nights ago. When we spoke two days ago, I had no idea it was for the last time.

“Please bear with me. My heart is heavy with pain and grief. I don’t even know how to describe this loss. I broke the news personally to my children and they were quite distraught. I sincerely want to condole my brothers, my sisters, my children, my nephews and nieces, my uncle and all the relatives of Ebemma, as well as her friends and all those who drew inspiration from her remarkable life story.

“We shall make further announcements about the burial arrangements. We shall mourn calmly and with dignity. May God accept the soul of Ebemma! Amen.”
