Ukrainian government considers legalizing porn

Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky has ordered a review into the legalization of pornography after a 25,000-signature petition forced its consideration.

Zelensky admitted Kiev’s constitution allows citizens the right to free speech, thought and expression, which are however limited by the law on Public Morality.

The petition’s author Taras Syromsky pointed out Ukraine’s legislation has many gaps which “give room for interpretation”, and that the legalization of porn could be “an ideal opportunity to bring money to the Ukrainian budget.”
