Sam Amadi, a former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and Arise TV analyst, has raised concern over the unusual preparation by the Lagos State police command ahead of Saturday’s planned political rally of the supporters of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party

Earlier today, scores of men of the Rapid Response Squad and the Lagos Task Force embarked on a patrol of the Lagos metropolis.

Some of the police operatives were seen at the Lekki Tollgate, a venue which the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, had ordered the supporters of Peter Obi not to gather

However, Amadi who queried the unusual preparation wondered if the police was preparing for war. According to him, in a democracy, people have the right to march and campaign freely.

He said, “Police is preparing for ObeDient march as if it is war. In a democracy people should march and campaign freely”
