Police gun down mentally challenged man who beheaded 84-yr-old octogenarian in Ogun

Police authorities in Ogun State, have killed a 32-year-old man identified as David Shodola, who beheaded an 84-year-old man, elder Alfred Opadipe, in Ipara community, Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State on Friday.

The unfortunate incident was confirmed in a statement by the command spokesman, Omotola Odutola. She said on Friday, the police received a distress call from an unnamed informant about a man on rampage with a machete.

According to Omotola, police officers led by the Isara Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Bankole Eluyeru, stormed the scene of the incident.

She said an attempt to arrest the suspect was vehemently resisted as he used “the machete to attack the Divisional Police Officer and his men.”

Also, Omotola added that the team succeeded “in neutralizing the suspect and the weapon recovered from him.”
