Gunmen kidnap three farmers in Osun

Gunmen have kidnapped three farmers in Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State. They were returning from home when the gunmen took them on the Ileogbo/Iwo Road.

It was gathered that farmers, about nine, were going to Ede about 5.20pm on Wednesday when the gunmen accosted their vehicle, shooting sporadically.

The six farmers escaped while the kidnappers took three into the bush at Oke-Osun area of Ileogbo.

A security source explained that one of the victims however escaped same Wednesday night.

He said: “Only two of the farmers – Samuel and Fashola – are remaining with the kidnapper. The kidnappers contacted the relatives and their church, asking for N10 million ransom.

However, a family member said the kidnappers called around 11pm same Wednesday to demand for $250 million.

Spokesperson of the Men Missionary Union, Osun Baptist Conference, Henry Oyebade, confirmed that ‘the kidnappers are demanding for millions in dollar as ransom. We have reported to the police, Amotekun and Vigilante’.

Police spokesperson Yemisi Opalola confirmed the kidnap.
