Corrupt INEC official demands N1000 before issuing PVC in Enugu

A yet to be identified official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has been captured on camera demanding for money before handing out the Permanent Voters Card to their owners.

The unfortunate incident happened at Emene primary school, Enugu East local government area of Enugu State.

In a viral video sighted by News Band Newspaper, the INEC official told the voters that the money was for her transportation to the local government from where they were supposed to pick up their cards.

One of the angry men that spoke in the video accused the defiant official of hijacking their PVC with the claim that its in the local government secretariat and asked them to pay her 1000.

This is coming after repeated denial by the electoral umpire that it’s officials are not involved in any form of extortion while issuing the voters card.

Meanwhile, INEC is yet to react to the unfortunate incident.
