24-year-old Abia born beauty queen, Ada Joy Agwu Eme, has been crowned the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2022 in a flamboyant national competition held on Friday, October 21 at Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
Ada is an indigene of Amaogudu Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State
She defeated 36 other contestants to win the 34th MBGN edition. Ada took over the beauty baton from last year’s winner Oluchi Madubuike and will now represent Nigeria at the 71st Miss World pageant on a date yet to be announced.
While Miss Edo, Montana Onose Felix, finished second and received the title of Miss Universe Nigeria 2022 while Miss Anambra, Genevieve Ukatu, Miss Abuja, Ifeoma Uzogheli, and Miss Lagos, Lydia Balogun made it to top 5 and took home the titles of Miss Supranational Nigeria, Miss Ecowas Nigeria, and Miss Tourism Nigeria, respectively.
The new Miss Nigeria while giving her speech advocated for empowering young women and children in Nigeria through education.
“I strongly believe that education gives us a fighting chance and a voice, and I believe this is the true essence of beauty and who I am as an individual.”
Nigeria has won Miss World once with Agbani Darego, the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2001, and the first black African to win the international title.
