Peter Obi sweeps presidential poll in Delta

The Independent National Election Commission has declared Labour Party candidate, Mr Peter Obi, as the winner of the poll in Delta state.

Delta Collation Officer, Professor Owunari Georgewill, Vice Chancellor, said Obi scored 341,866 while its closest rival the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 161,600. The APC was placed third with 90,183 votes.

The Labour Party triumphed in eighteen local government areas including Isoko North, Isoko South, Warri South, Udu, Ughelli North, Uvwie, Okpe, Ndokwa West, Oshimili South, Sapele and Ndokwa East LGA’s.

Others are Ukwuani, Aniocha South, Ethiope East, Oshimili North, Ethiope West, Aniocha North and Ika South LGA’s.

The ruling PDP won in seven local government areas clearing Ughelli South, Burutu, Patani, Bomadi, Warri North, Ika North East and Warri South West LGA’s
