… Issues Mahmood 72 Hours ultimatum

Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has called on Economic Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) to arrest and investigate the activities of Prof. Yakubu Mahmood, Festus Okoye.

This is sequel to the national press conference by Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) held on June 16, 2022, at NUJ Press Center, Abuja on the alleged bribery and corruption being perpetuated by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) Chairman Prof. Yakubu Mahmood and Festus Okoye over the APGA Supreme Court Judgement.

The Council condemned the conspiracy of Mahmood and Okoye to undermine the Supreme Court’s Judgement delivered by Hon. Justice Mary Ukaego Peter-Odili, JSC in Suit No: SC/CV/686/2021 between Jude Okeke Vs All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) & others which declared Chief Edozie Njoku as the authentic National Chairman of APGA.

Addressing newsmen at Sheraton Hotel Abuja Monday, June 20, OYC’s National President, Comrade. Igboayaka O. Igboayaka alleged that ‘Prof Yakubu Mahmood in connivance with Festus Okoye and other Directors in INEC have been compromised’. He went further to say ‘that they have refused to issue Chief Njoku letter of recognition because recognizing him would mean an end to their illicit business with Ozonkpu Victyor Oye’.

“We have gathered that INEC ignored the Supreme Court Judgement, since May 9, 2022, so that Oye can milk the ignorant aspirants and share the proceeds with them at the agreed 60/40 percent sharing formula”.

The Council, therefore, implored the EFCC to commence immediate investigation of Prof Yakubu Mahmood, stressing that, “his refusal to obey the Supreme Court Judgement is causing public opprobrium as they insinuate that millions of Dollars has been paid to Prof Yakubu Mahmood by Ozonkpu Victor Oye”

“This is past two months the Supreme Court declared Chief Edozie Njoku as the authentic National Chairman of APGA, but the ostrich stance of Prof Yakubu Mahmood led INEC is an indication that he is under a heavy monetary inducement to do the bidding of Ozonkpu Victor Oye.”

“It’s now very expedient and necessary that EFCC quickly investigates Prof. Yakubu Mahmood, Festus Okoye and their agents in INEC that have turned the Commission into a ‘Bureau De Change’ where Dollars move table to table.’

“A situation where, Ozonkpu Victor Oye and his cronies boast publicly of having the INEC Chairman Prof. Yakubu Mahmood in his pocket is abominable”.

The Council, therefore, charged the Prof Yakubu Mahmood to oblige Chief Edozie Njoku his due recognition as APGA National Chairman, within 72 hours or prepare for a show down.
